Yageo launched a new anti-sulfur high-power anti-surge resistor-AS series for automobiles to meet more stringent product applications
Yageo Group, the world leader in passive components, has launched a new automotive "anti-sulfur high-power anti-surge resistor" - AS series, which is mainly used for high-power and high-pulse requirements exposed to high pollution environments, including industrial control systems, Converters, inverters, power supplies, printing equipment, chargers/charging equipment, automotive electronics, communication base stations, etc., as well as other electronic equipment used in high-concentration sulfur gas areas, such as hot spring areas and mining areas. Applications in the automotive field include power transmission, engine control units, infotainment systems, chassis, driving information modules, lighting systems, and electric vehicle charging modules.
Compared with Yageo's general anti-sulfur thick film resistors AF series, the AS series has both anti-sulfur and anti-surge characteristics, and has extremely high reliability, which can meet more stringent product applications. According to the inspection of the international standard ASTM, the AS series meets the most stringent test standards and has excellent anti-sulfur characteristics; the unique anti-surge design can withstand high pulses in the circuit, and provides additional specifications of triple and quadruple power , so it can operate in a high-power environment. At present, the AS anti-sulfur high-power anti-surge resistor developed by Yageo is available in 0603/0805/1206 size and has been mass-produced.
In order to achieve the purpose of anti-sulfur, some suppliers have introduced anti-sulfur resistors using gold inner electrodes, but the manufacturing cost of this method is extremely high. In view of this, Yageo AS series internal electrodes add other special elements, optimize the structural design, greatly improve the product's anti-sulfurization and anti-pulse capabilities, and provide very competitive product prices.
